- Closed hole in lower right corner.
Toyokuni (1769-1825). (Group portrait of five actors). Col. woodcut ôban, signed Toyokuni ga, publisher Kawachiya Genshichi (before 1811).
- Soiled; closed wormholes along edges and lower section (just within the image).
= With the publisher seal of Kawachiya Genshichi, used before 1811 (Marks 227).
AND 1 other by TOYOKUNI: (Standing actor) (published by the same, also before 1811).
- A few closed holes in the right section; worn/ dam. spots near upper right corner en upper edge.
Yoshitoshi (1839-1892). Returning Sails in the Ryukyu Islands (Minamoto Tametomo on the Beach). Col. woodcut ôban triptych, 1867, signed Yoshitoshi hitsu, publisher Kinseidô.
- All ôban sections tipped on one leaf; all (heavily) wormholed along edges.
= From the series Bidan musha hakkei (Eight Views with Fine Tales of Warriors).
- Left sheet w. wormhole in upper part; sheets attached; outer edges sl. rubbed/ creased.
Kuniyoshi (1797-1861). (Falsehood and Truth: Both Sides of the Heart). Four (of 10) col. woodcut ôban, signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga, published by Minatoya Kohei, 1847 or 1848.
- All laid down together on 1 mount; fingersoiled and rubbed.
= Part of the series Uso to makoto kokoro no ura omote.
AND 3 other triptychs, all w. defects: an unidentified warrior scene by KUNISADA (publ. by Izutsuya Shokichi, ±1847-1850), three actors by KUNIYOSHI and two ladies strolling in the snow by GEKKO OGATA.
- Central and righthand sheet wormholed in top left/ right corner and sl. wormholed in outer left/ right margin; lefthand sheet trifle wormholed in margins. Not examined outside frame (possibly cut short); central leaf sl. yellowed in lower half. Sl. faded.
- Laid down on modern thin Japanese. = Meiji-period print from recut block.
Utamaro (1754-1806). (Parody of the Killing of the Nue). Col. woodcut ôban, signed Utamaro hitsu, publisher Omiya Gonkurô.
- Laid down on modern thin Japanese; sm. pinholes in the right corners.
= Meiji-period print from recut block. Asano and Clark 259-61.
AND 1 other colour woodcut by TOYOHARU, also Meij print from recut block, (Landscape at Mimeguri).
- Upper pastedown loose; 2 lvs. stained. Wr. sl. worn.

AND 3 other similar triptyches, all naval battle scenes from the Sino-Japanese war, i.a. by the same and KUNIMASA IV.

= Interesting miniature, in the style of the famous Shah Jahan album miniatures, with the detailed drawings of flowers and birds in margins. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LIII.
- A few leaves (water)stained; library stamp of "Musée Tack Ypres Bibliothèque" on verso of final free endpaper (not traced) and w. catalogue clipping describing the work as "Manuscrit Turc" ["Turc" crossed out] and the contents as "poésies et contes, en turc". Spine-ends worn.
= The nice gouache shows a seated woman in a garden, playing the rebab (an Arabic bowed instrument). SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LIII.
- A few unobtrusive (very) small waterstains in the blue background.
= A beautifully detailed portrait of a prince wearing a magnificent robe decorated with hunting scenes. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LIII.
- Waterstained; mounted on board along margins. Probably a preparative design for a miniature.
WITH another anonymous drawing of a prince seated on a dais (pencil and watercolour on paper, 16,1x10,5 cm., 18th cent.(?), with (unread) Persian annotation in top and lower margins. Sl. creased and fingersoiled; tipped onto modern cloth on mount).
- Worn, w. closed tear.
= Perhaps an illustration for the poem Guy-o Chawgân ("the Ball and the Polo-mallet").
- A few spots affected by silverfish. Laid down on contemp. pink board.
AND 11 others, incl. 2 modern miniatures by HOSEIN-KHATAY, both showing a couple surrounded by flowers/ branches offering each other a cup/ a fruit (both gouache on leather with inlay painted leather sections, heightened with gold, each 21,6x12,3 cm. Both w. annot. on mount attributing the drawing to "Hosein-Khatay leerling van Mirzaga Emamy ±50 jaar te Isfahan Iran 1957" and 1x w. mounted ticket of the dealers "M.KH. Golriz Khatami & Sons, Chirazi Chaharbagh, Isfahan, Iran").
